the booking process

Thank you so much for choosing me as your

tattoo artist!

There are a few steps you'll need to take before booking an appointment.

To book an appointment with me, please first fill out a booking form. There is a link on the top of this page.

Please read the questions carefully and include all important information about your tattoo design. Be sure to include reference photos so I can get a good idea of the style and composition you are looking for. If you have existing tattoos that you will need to work around, or are looking for a cover-up, please also include photos of those as well.

Please take photos using a self-timer, posing from a distance so the tattoo is not distorted or angled. Please use indirect natural light such as in front of a window.

I schedule appointments Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from the hours of 12pm-6pm. I prefer to keep Wednesdays free for walk-ins at Tattoo 34. I will try my best to accommodate your schedule. If you are unable to make these days and work with your schedule, please request a day off in advance. If you are traveling, please reach out with at least 2-3 weeks notice so I am able to accommodate your day of choice.

I do walk-ins every Wednesday. If the tattoo you would like is small or will take 2 or less hours to complete, feel free to come in any Wednesday. Walk-ins begin at noon and go until around 6. They are done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Be sure to indicate that you would like to get a tattoo from me by writing my name under artist preference on the sign up sheet.

Please try to fully figure out your concept idea before filling out a form for a seamless and quick booking process. Some things to think about are choosing subject matter, placement, size, style, finding references and keeping your concept simple. Less is more in a design, usually trying to fit a lot of detail in a small size or a lot of ideas into one project does not work.

I am happy to set up a consultation with you if you would like to discuss your ideas and have me help you figure them out before booking.

After submitting a form, you can expect to receive a response via email about a week from submitting. The email should be from witchinghourink@gmail.com.

Be sure to check your spam folder to make sure you didn't miss it. If you have not recieved a response in 12 or more days, send a follow up email to ensure I've received it. Sometimes emails get lost in the void and you are all important to me!

I may have further questions about your design or references, and will make sure we are both on the same page before proceeding to book. Larger tattoos and cover ups will be asked to schedule an in-person consultation before booking a tattoo appointment.

I prefer to tattoo in an illustrative style. I enjoy botanical work, fine line tattoos, ornamentals, neotraditional, traditional and blackwork as well.

My style is self-described as whimsical illustrative, which to me refers to a heavy influence of fairy tales/ storybook illustrations. All my artwork combines the magical with regular imagery and is nature-based.

I take a lot of inpsiration from mythology, folklore, medieval woodcut art, gothic architecture, victorian era spiritualism, art nouveau and pre-raphaelite paintings.

My favorite things to tattoo are medieval weapons, forest scenes, mythical creatures, bugs and tarot cards.

Some subjects I would like to begin projects based on are medieval dragons, castles, astrology, fairies, and gods & goddesses.

If your project idea isn't in a style I typically do, like photo-realism, watercolor, geometric patterning, etc., I may decline the project and refer you to another artist who I think would do your design justice. It is better to research your artist's style beforehand to ensure the best outcome. We all do best on projects we enjoy most!

In the email response, I will offer you available dates and times within my schedule. We will confirm which works best with you, and you will be sent a link to place a deposit to claim said date. Dates are not held without a deposit, they are first come, first serve.

You will also be sent a link to send a deposit. Please refer to my deposit policy for important information.

Your deposit will be deducted from the total cost of the tattoo when checking out from your appointment.

Deposits are non-refundable.

If booking more than one session for a tattoo, a deposit will be required for each appointment.

Deposits for most sessions are $100 and $200 for 5-6 hour/ full day sessions.

I will send you a price estimate for your tattoo when I send you the booking link. This estimate will be given in the form of a range reflecting the estimated time needed for your appointment and my hourly rate. For tattoos that take less than 3 hours, they are priced by the piece.

My hourly rate is $175 per hour. Other than a deposit, I can accept cash or card when checking out from your appointment. We also can accept Apple Pay. I do not accept payments from digital platforms such as PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, etc.

Tips are never expected, but always appreciated. My favorite tips are small gifts such as coffee, books, oddities, crystals, etc.

If you need to split a tattoo appointment into sessions due a budget, we can work together to find a scheduling plan that works for you. With larger pieces, it is suggested that we at least get through the linework in the first session. We can skip some detail and save it for a later session, but it is important to have the outline mapped out first.

If you are unsure about certain details of your design or design placement, I am happy to set up an in-person consultation to meet with you and discuss ideas. I require a consultation for all cover-up tattoos and sleeves/ multi-session tattoos.

You can expect to see your finished design the day of our appointment. Custom work requires a lot of trust in your artist. It is important to research your artist's portfolio to see the type of work they do, to see an idea of what to expect with your design. Be sure to be very thorough and communicate well in your consultation or booking form to ensure we are on the same page with the design and you will love the end result.

I always devote extra time with each appointment to review the final design in person and make any changes if needed. I aim to ensure you are happy with your tattoo forever, so don't be afraid to make any minor alterations to ensure it's perfect.

If you would like major changes to the design when you see the fully rendered version, requiring a full redesign, you may be asked to reschedule. I put a lot of time and care into each custom design, and would rather wait until the result is perfect, and not rush into a design that neither of us are fully happy with. We will turn our scheduled appointment into a consultation if this occurs, and talk about what would make the tattoo perfect for you.

If you decide to go a different direction with your tattoo or change your mind completely about what you want, please let me know with at least 72 hours notice. Please also understand that your appointment is booked for your first design idea, and if the changes require a longer appointment, I may need to reschedule your appointment.

I will never copy another artist's design exactly. With custom work, I aim to create a one-of-a-kind design combining your idea with my personal art style. I also do not accept appointments for 'tattoo tickets' aka designs drawn by another artist. I prefer to tattoo my own work only.

I aim for all of my tattoos to be loved forever, and will advise you if your expectations of size and detail will not work in the long term. Tattoo ink will expand underneath the skin as the tattoo ages over the years, and sometimes this will cause lines to blur together. I can help you figure out how large your tattoo will need to be in order to fit everything you want into it, and to age gracefully.

If you have any questions at all leading up to your appointment, feel free to email me at witchinghourink@gmail.com. I'm happy to help prepare you for your appointment. Check out my Frequently Asked Questions page for a quick answer to most commonly asked questions.

Thank you so much for choosing me to work with and for all of your trust.

I can't wait to create something magical with you!
