Hi! I'm Sierra.

I am from Peoria, Illinois, and recently relocated to Portland in March 2024. I spent my youth wandering

around in the woods, reading fantasy books, and filling every sketchbook I could get my hands on. I have always had a keen interest in art and nature. I loved that I could escape into my art anytime I wanted and create a world that was just my own.

Art continued to be a big part of my life and my passion for it only grew as I got older. I would draw in the margins of all of my notes in school and draw fake tattoos on myself and my friends with permanent marker.

I went to college in pursuit of a Graphic Design degree and continued on that path for a few years before ultimately deciding it wasn't for me. I have always known I wanted a career where I could be independently focused, express myself and feel free to use my imagination daily.

I have always had an appreciation for tattoos, and to tattoo was a dream of mine for a long time. It was a dream that I continued to feel drawn to over the years. Eventually I decided to take a chance on myself to pursue that dream. Dropping out of my major to pursue tattooing was the scariest thing I had done, but it was the best choice I have made and one I am thankful for every day.

I started my apprenticeship in 2019 at Dark Horse Art Studio. There, I learned the value of hard work and dedication, and met lots of wonderful people, from clients to coworkers, along the way. I have been tattooing for 4 years now and hope to continue for many years to come.

I had always dreamed of a life in the magical pacific northwest since I was young. I have family in Oregon and Washington, and visiting them only made me want to live there more. After getting a good kickstart in my career in Illinois, I decided to pack up and head west. I moved to Portland, Oregon in March 2024 and have been loving every second spent here. I am so grateful that I made the move at last and followed my dreams. I currently work at Tattoo 34 here in Portland with a wonderful crew in a beautiful and welcoming shop.

Getting into tattooing has been the best thing I have ever done. This craft is the most challenging yet rewarding path. Each day I have the privilege of doing what I love, creating unique pieces of art, and connecting with others. It brings me such joy to be able to improve others' self-confidence, to share stories and get closer to people, and to be a part of this community.

I am extremely grateful for what this journey has done for me, and I thank you for being part of it. I am so excited to continue to learn and grow in this craft and to see what further adventures are in store for me. My goal is to create artwork that lasts and is loved for a lifetime. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey, as you are in mine.
